November and December tend to be crazy for just about everyone. Whether it’s work, school, family, or all things related to the holidays, it always goes by in a flash. The clock is ticking and you are just holding on for dear life hoping to steal a few moments to relax, enjoy, and remember.
This usually happens for me as a lot of brands want to collaborate for the holiday season, and my self-imposed gift guides I like to curate. This year I had the added task of creating an entire online course! I of course, chose to do that during this time because apparently I think there are 48 hours in a day. I also wanted to finish the course, get the first class through before reopening it for the New Years crowd.
I also took on a few last-minute photo shoots that were really time consuming. Probably not smart on my part but some opportunities are too good to pass up. I’m just grateful for the work so I’ll just about kill myself to get it done!
Last week was my first week of air after three crazy weeks and it was a lot of catching up. From now through the new year I’m focused on the 2nd launch of the course (reopening on December 19th!), the relaunch of my site (coming in the new year!), and in December & January I always do a lot of strategic planning and reading (for work and pleasure). I have a stack of magazines from the last 2 months to go through, an online course I’m personally taking, and several books I’d like to get through in the next few weeks.
I love the holidays for this reason (of course also for time with family, friends, traditions, festivities, and food too) but I relish the times I spend planning, organizing, learning, and reading. It always makes me feel renewed and ready to take on the new year. And I have BIG PLANS for 2017 so I need all the creative and inspiring juices I can get!
What about you, are November/December busy season for you as well? Do you take any time over the holidays to plan or do something you enjoy?
