Giving My Hair Volume & Texture

I’ve you’ve been reading my site for a while, you might remember my hair incident. If not, let me give you the short version. I used to have long blond hair. It was thin and fine but those are the cards I was dealt. Then I started dying it white. I loved my hair white. But white is harsh on your hair and can do major damage to your hair if you aren’t taking care of it. Which I wasn’t…I didn’t know I was supposed to.

After nine months of the white, I wanted to get my hair healthy again and I had it turned brown. I hated my hair brown, and a few weeks later I had blonde highlights put in — not the best idea I’ve ever had. It basically killed my hair. I lost probably 1/5 of my hair that day — all the new blonde just broke completely off. The top layer of my hair was just a few inches long. I know, just process that for a minute.

This was a year ago. Somehow I didn’t publicly freak out in the salon but as soon as I got in my car I went into a I can’t change the past but can only change the future mode and started learning about hair and hair products.

Living Proof products

Right at the time of my hair crisis Living Proof stepped in and wanted to partner with me. I started using their Restore line (thank heavens for those products!) to help the extremely damaged hair I still had left.

I’ve been growing my hair out for the past year and have almost cut off all of the extremely damaged hair, which means I can finally start using heat tools and regular hair products again!

My hair is still shorter and thinner than I prefer, but I just have to deal with what I have. I wear my hair in a bun every day. I just prefer it that way, and it’s easy. But as you can see (above and below) my mini bun is pretty pathetic on its own.

For having naturally wavy hair, without help from products my hair has no body or volume, as you can see…

If I want my hair to have any volume I have to put product in it.

And if I have extra time, I’ll give it some extra waves with my wand or straightener.

But as you can see, that doesn’t do much on its own…

Enter Living Proof’s new volumizing spray — Full Dry Volume Blast. I literally cannot live without a product like this. My hair needs all the texture and volume it can get! Just shake before you spray — start at the root and spray down your hair.

As you can see (above) my hair went from super flat to having body and texture (and it looks like I have more hair than I really do!).

Hello hair with texture!

Meg Biram styling hair.

You saw my mini bun pre Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast, and now here it is after! It looks so much better. My entire head has some volume and texture. I love the messy bun look, like you got out of bed and put it up but in reality you had to do it for 15 minutes to get it to look this good.

I’ve always had hair that I had to do something to. I can never just wake up and walk out the door with sexy bed head hair (I wish!). But the Full Dry Volume Blast gives my hair instant texture and body that lasts all day, so I actually can get volume in my hair quickly and run out the door!

I know not everyone has thin fine hair like me, so you can use Living Proof’s Product Selector Tool to find what the best products are for your hair type.
