organization // chic office accessories

To compliment my GSD series, I wanted to bring on an organization professional, enter Rachel of Rachel And Company. She’s going to be giving us her expert tips on organization — woohoo!

Don’t let your stylish self be hindered by boring office organizers — the more visually appealing your desk is, the more inclined you’ll be to keep things organized. Here’s some of my favorite products and tips to help you stay chic & neat at your 9-5, whether you work from home or in an office.

Russel+Hazel Mini Binder
This binder is one of my favorite office products because of its versatility. The brand makes little sheets you can insert so you can customize the binder to whatever you want, whether it be an address book, a weekly planner, a to-do list or any combination of the above. The linen cover makes it stylish and fun, and the cover’s dry-erase interior makes it functional.

The Container Store’s Classic Stockholm Desktop File
These boxes come in all different shapes and sizes, so you can customize your stacks to your needs. Perfect for organizing paper, accessories or anything in between. They also come in a variety of colors, so you can color code your files by client, project or date.

Paper Source Typewriter File Folder
Staying organized can be fun if you incorporate whimsical and visual products into your routine. Paper Source has tons of products to help you do this. Not only will colorful folders add some fun in your workday, but they will also help you stay organized because your file cabinet won’t be full of a bunch of manila folders.

Semikolon Striped Document File
These inexpensive portfolios are perfect for carrying papers to meetings or bringing them home for the weekend. You can match the color scheme to your purse or workbag so you look coordinated and stylish on your commute.

Kate Spade Brilliant Ideas Notepad
I love these pocket-sized pads from Kate Spade because they’re great for throwing in your purse when you need to run to a meeting. The bright color helps it stand out and it’s great for jotting down little to-do lists, brainstorm ideas or other musings that occur in your hectic day.

Some other ways to stay organized and stylish at work:

  • Keep different colored pens handy at your desk. It’s way more fun to write in colors and can also help you distinguish between different clients or projects when you write in meetings on your calendar. My favorite are Sharpie Pens because they come in a variety of colors and have the finest tips to write in small spaces.
  • Purchase a cute lamp or a colorful rug for underneath your desk. You spend a lot of time at your desk, so adding fun accent pieces can help you stay productive and calm.
