I try to read a lot. I enjoy reading, and I usually read anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour or more every night before I go to sleep (It helps me wind down). I go in cycles of reading where I will read a lot for a few months, and then I won’t as much for a month or so then back to reading a lot.
I wanted to share a list of some of my favorite books I read in 2014. They are basically two types of books — fiction and work/career/productivity related books. Which is mostly what I read in addition to memoirs and biographies.
Would love to hear your thoughts on any of these books, and what some of your favorite books were this year — please share in the comments!

Have you read any of these books? What did you think? What was your favorite book you read this year?
I’d definately want to read The Creative habit and #Girlboss. I’m trying to read 200 books in 2015 so I think I add those on my list 🙂
I loved Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan, After Visiting Friends (I can’t remember the author’s name right now but he’s an editor at GQ), Looking For Alaska by John Green, Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, Yes Please by Amy Poehler, Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walter. Also loved Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald. The Goldfinch was heavy reading and an emotional roller coaster type book. And I finally read Wild by Sheryl Strayed and Orange Is The New Black (forgot author’s name). Ok, so I guess I have a lot of suggestions! Happy New Year!
These must be awesome to read!
I wish you an amazing NYE and a very happy 2015!

Thanks for sharing these, Meg! One of my goals is to read more books this year. The only two on your list I’ve read are Bernadette and The Fault in our Stars. I’m an artist so I’m particularly looking forward to reading the creative books you’ve listed.
Happy 2015!
Evelyn
PS— you have to read Me before You by Jojo Moyes—-SO good. Definitely the best book I read in 2014.
i read (and loved!) seven of these, adding the others to my list!
I read quite a few of the books you listed and I loved them as well! #GirlBoss, Where’d You Go Bernadette and The Vacationers were among my favorites! I’m in the middle of Reconstructing Amelia right now and can’t wait to see how it ends. I enjoy your book reviews – keep ’em comin’!
We must have similar taste in books, I have read almost all of these and am reading Astonish me now!
