I’m drowning in beauty products to tell you about! One of the things I am working on in this new year is getting a better system with beauty all of the beauty samples and products I receive. I always try to show them on my Instagram Stories when I’m testing them if the lighting works at the time. Makeup is easier to test, skincare not so much. I like to test things for a while before I tell you my thoughts.
So here goes round five of Beauty Dossier, where I tell you about some of the products I’ve tested, liked, didn’t like, etc. And, as always, I’m just one gal, with one type of skin and hair, so always make sure to do some research and find someone with your skin/hair type so you can get multiple opinions on products!
I really love this product. Love love love it. It’s so moisturizing. It’s a two-step process, and I like to give the first step, a pearl serum, time to sink into my skin for a few minutes and then apply the second layer. If you are looking for plump moisturized skin, this is for you!
This liquid eye shadow is AMAZING if you want something long-wearing and super sparkly! It’s perfect for a glam moment. I wish I had more glam moments to wear it for. You will not be disappointed and they have tons of colors! I’m really into liquid eyeshadows lately.
Vichy Micellar Cleansing Water and Makeup Remover for Sensitive Skin / Simple Micellar Cleansing Water / Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water
So I’ve used all three of these micellar water products, and actually I’m almost out of all of them! Honestly, I couldn’t tell a difference. I thought they were all good. I don’t use them for removing lots of makeup or removing eye makeup. Using them on the eye just seems like lots of tugging and I’d rather soak my eye makeup off with cleanser and warm water and then, only if necessary, use the Pixi Eye Makeup Remover Pads to finish the job.
I used these micellar waters more as a toner like my dermatologist told me to do. Or if I didn’t wear any makeup one day, instead of washing my face I would just use a micellar water instead before doing my nightly skincare routine.
Again, I thought they all performed well. I know some people have very strong feelings about specific ones, but as someone who only wears a lot of makeup sometimes, I didn’t really see much of a difference. If you’ve used one or all of these, tell me your thoughts in the comments!
This fragrance is insane. I am absolutely obsessed with it. I would definitely say it’s more of a manly scent, so if that’s not your vibe to wear, this wouldn’t be for you, but you might like it on your partner. It has notes of tobacco, vetiver, black tea, pine, birch, leather — I mean it just oozes dark sexy library with a tall, dark, handsome man (basically my husband) with a bit of scruff on his face, wearing a suit (or tux) with the tie undone, smoking a cigar. But I want to wear it, smell it, be it.
Or it’s like a fire in a giant marble hearth in a dark mansion with a candlelit dinner setup on the floor. That is what this scent smells like.
Perfumer Loïc Bisceglie describes it as, “Intensely woody, smouldering and noble leathery notes intermingle with a Siberian forest’s brisk pine. Ambery vetiver embraces strong, commanding black leather laced with sophisticated cade, leaving an unforgettable impression of a vast wilderness.” You can read more about the fragrance here.
So while I do like this product, it doesn’t replace my favorite makeup remover/cleanser. The finish on the skin leaves the skin moisturized without feeling greasy which is impressive. I think because I wear contacts I don’t like to smear this on my eyes to get my eye makeup off. Once you get it all over your face, you rinse with warm water. It’s a good product, it works, but it’s not a replacement for my cleanser.
All products were given to me for review unless stated otherwise. All opinions are honest and are my own. I was not paid to talk about any of these products nor did I guarantee the brands any coverage.
