black art print on desktop

My new Georgetown studio — Creative Collective — is coming along nicely. We have a few finishing touches to put on it before we can do the big studio photo shoot and reveal. See my previous studio progress update, why I chose to get a standing desk, and you can follow me on Instagram @megbiram for lots of behind the scenes pics. All I have left to finish is getting the art on the walls, adding more art (can you ever have enough?), and I need to finish painting the kitchen and hallway. I’ve got something fun up my sleeve for the hallway…

black bar chair at standing desk

We recently got our bar stools in from AllModern. Even though most of us still stand for at least half of the day, the bar stools have been great if you get tired and need to take a seat. I’ve also found that if I’m trying to concentrate on writing (versus designing or sourcing) I prefer to sit. These bar stools were literally perfect for our standing desks, they tuck right under them and are cushy and comfortable. I don’t think I could have found a more perfect combination of standing desk and bar stool.

leigh viner print with black frame

I’m obsessed with the decor we are collecting. This vintage print by Leigh Viner, with a custom frame thanks to framed & matted, and this black stone box from west elm (psst, it’s on sale right now!) just screams chic studio!

meeting room with white table and kilim rug

In the back room we have two big white glossy tables and Bentley arm chairs for our meeting space. Currently I have the kilim rug from my shop in the space and it looks so good, unless someone snatches it up I might have to keep it. We’ve got these trays from west elm all over the space to help contain any office clutter.

What do you think so far? I can’t wait to get it finished and reveal the entire space!
