If you have skin on the dry side (like me) moisture masks are your new best friend. They can take a tired, dry, dull face and plump it right up making you look years younger (and well-rested!).
Typically I’ll do a moisture mask 1-2 times per week and while I tend to do them in the evening, I’m realizing now that I should probably do them in the morning to see the effects all day while I’m awake!
Perricone MD sent me their Cocoa Moisture Mask, and since I’ve been really into masks lately I was excited to try it. Immediately upon opening the jar it smells like hot cocoa. Like you will literally want hot cocoa right after you wash it off. It’s probably one of the best smelling beauty products ever. Definitely the best cocoa-scented beauty product I’ve ever smelled. It doesn’t smell like your typical chocolate, but more like expensive, rich chocolate. Clearly, I love the smell.
I don’t think I read the directions before I started applying it, but I realized while applying that the little microcapsules were bursting and changing the color from white to brown as I massaged it into my face.
The instructions recommend deeply massaging a liberal amount onto clean, dry skin. Massage in circular motions until all microcapsules have burst and color has transformed to dark brown.
I’m going to recommend that you don’t throw out the little scoop because it comes in handy if you need to burst a few stubborn microcapsules. You do need to deeply massage the microcapsules to get them to burst, but I actually think this is good. Our faces could use a little massage, right!? I know mine can.
Once you’ve finished applying the mask and bursting all the microcapsules, you leave it on for 5-10 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.
The results are obvious immediately after you wash it off. My skin felt so hydrated and I swear I look younger after I use it. I will be rebuying this mask the second it runs out. It’s that good.
It’s products like this that I love to give as gifts. It’s luxurious, it creates an experience, and your recipient can use it over and over again. I have sensitive skin and didn’t have any reactions to it.
