HEADING TO THE CARIBBEAN ON MY FIRST CRUISE

caribbean ocean

So, I’ve never been on a cruise before. Ever. I’ve actually never really had the desire to go on one. Many reasons have kept me from going on a cruise, but when presented the opportunity to go to Grand Cayman and Cozumel on a cruise it’s pretty hard to turn down. And I’m always up for trying new things — so the Mr. and I are headed for the Caribbean!

I wouldn’t say cruise ships are a huge fear of mine, but I definitely do not like the idea of being on a giant boat in the middle of the ocean without being able to see (or swim to) land. That freaks me out. Also, I’m a bit of a germaphobe soooooo a lot of people on one boat…let’s just say I’ll be washing my hands a lot. One more little thing — the Mr. and I are not really fans of big crowds. So as you can see, this will definitely be an experience for the both of us. I love the ocean and beaches and the Caribbean and I’m sure all of the sun & fun will help me get over the being-in-the-middle-of-the-ocean thing, but I’ll be sure to let you know.

Princess Cruises is taking me & the Mr. (and a few other bloggers) on a 5-day cruise to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. My honeymoon (almost 10 years ago) was on the Mayan Riviera (near Cozumel) and the beaches were gorgeous so I’m definitely looking forward to some beach time. Even though I was in the Bahamas in April, then on the Gulf in June with my family (although it rained almost the entire time), and then a quickie beach stint in Hilton Head for a wedding — I always miss the beach. So any opportunity to go, I’m usually on board.

Since this is my first cruise ever, I bought some dramamine, but please chime in with your cruise advice & good stories in the comments (don’t freak me out)! I honestly have no idea what to expect!

Follow me on Instagram and Twitter while I’m there! I’ll be recapping my experience when I get back and and will have posts going up even though I’m gone. Crossing my fingers there’s not too much rain! Send me good sun vibes.
