After spending two weeks in Hawaii and Cabo San Lucas I am in major detox mode! Yoghurt was already a huge staple in my diet (I mentioned here how I eat it a lot for the protein) but until I head to Rwanda next Saturday and then on to Thanksgiving week in Missouri, I’m really watching what I eat (so far it’s been smoothies, salads, yoghurt, tea, and soup!). Sidenote, Thanksgiving really is a week for me since my parents are divorced, and we are seeing my husband’s family too = 3 different families & lots of food!
Back to yoghurt (and this amazing photo shoot) — I partnered with Noosa to pair their yoghurt up with a few things to make it extra special. I always like to add something to my yoghurt to give it some added texture. A recent combination I’ve been eating (not included here) is their pumpkin yoghurt with chocolate granola. OMG it’s so good!
So I’ve paired four of their yoghurt flavors with a few different things. Not rocket science by any means, but I just love to add things to my yoghurt to switch it up a little. You can take the same flavor, add different toppings, and eat it every day and make it taste totally different!
First up — peach yoghurt. Nothing crazy here, just cut up a fresh peach and add some almond slices. Easy peasy. This adds texture, protein, and some fruit to your snack!
Next up — raspberry yoghurt. I’ll take any excuse to add some raspberries to just about anything. Toss on some chia seeds and you’re good to go. I’ve heard that chia seeds have antioxidant activity higher than any whole food. I’m no nutritionist, but that sounds good to me!
Third — trusty vanilla yoghurt. I’m thinking back to when I taste-tested all of these yoghurts with my sister-in-law (she just happened to be in town during this photo shoot) and we started testing all the flavors and we were like, wow, these are amazing! They actually taste fresh.
To jazz up vanilla add apples, walnuts, and some cinnamon. It’s like an apple pie — but healthy!
And last, but certainly not least (this is my favorite flavor right now!) — pumpkin yoghurt. I mentioned earlier I’ve been eating it with chocolate granola, but here I paired it with mini chocolate chips (because adding chocolate is always a good idea) and crushed graham crackers. It’s like a chocolate pumpkin pie. Maybe consider this as an alternative to pumpkin pie if you are looking for something a little healthier during the holidays.
Ok, now I want to know what crazy (or not crazy) things you put in your yoghurt. Let me know in the comments — I’m always looking for new ideas!
Thanks to Noosa for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own, and seriously, their yoghurt is delicious!
