To me, the holidays are about quality time with family and friends, and a lot of that time centers around food. Because our world is so much more casual now than it once was, I love taking the time to do things in a more formal way. It makes it more special. Taking time to come up with a holiday table, shop for it, and actually put it together can make the holidays that much more memorable and special, but we all don’t necessarily have the time do it.
When CB2 approached me this holiday season to design a table, I couldn’t have said yes more quickly! As usual, I wanted to do something a little out of the box, take the table to another level. So in addition to picking out the decor from CB2’s holiday decor and styling the table, I also noticed they had black craft paper, which got me thinking, how can I get everyone involved in the holiday table and of course how can I try to infuse some art into the mix.
Light bulb moment — cover the table in black craft paper, and have metallic markers on the table for everyone to use to write their favorite holiday memory and/or what they are thankful for right on the table. People can even get creative and draw these things instead of using words.
If creating a holiday table gives you anxiety you can just copy mine! Or you can even win mine! From now until November 29th visit the CB2 in Georgetown (Washington DC) and enter for a chance to win my tablescape for a party of 8! See an associate for details.
