I’ve been going through all the answers to my survey — thank you all so much for all of your amazing responses! There were hundreds of people who generously gave me their thoughts and I’m still going through them all so I can take action! One thing is for sure, the most common answer to the where do you shop online question was Nordstrom!
So, due to that strong response, I wanted to start a new column called The Nordstrom Edit. It’s actually something I’ve been thinking about for a long time because there’s a few things about Nordstrom that bug me.
One is that they just carry so much stuff! I love you Nordstrom, but you have a lot of products. And I think shopping at Nordstrom online can be extremely overwhelming. Even for me, and I have a high online shopping tolerance. Literally just in the women’s blouses section there are over 2,500 items (or 39 pages of scrolling, which is easily a few hours of time).
I’ve often thought that they should have some edited sections. Remember how Piperlime (RIP) had those sections where people like Rachel Zoe and Olivia Palermo would pick out their favorite items? I thought that was genius! So if they won’t do it for you, I will.
Also, I wish they had a “heart” option like Shopbop does. It’s so easy for me to scroll through a few pages of new arrivals each week, heart all the ones I like, and come back to them later if I want to feature them here or buy them. Nordstrom does have a wish list option, but Shopbop has both the heart and wish list option, which I like because I can point family to the wish list around Christmas time, but they don’t have to go through the 500 items I’ve hearted, just the few I select for the wish list.
So, what is The Nordstrom Edit? It will be where I feature what I think are some of the best items Nordstrom has at the time. So instead of you having to scroll through pages and pages of new tops for fall, you can just look through my edited group. And I will be making sure to feature items in ALL budget ranges!
Since we are in the beginning of fall, we are all starting to pull out long sleeves and might be realizing that maybe we need a few more tops for the season, hence this week’s focus — TOPS! If you don’t even know where to begin with your wardrobe or fall shopping, read my book, The Life Edit — it will help you get your wardrobe in check!
THE NORDSTROM EDIT // TOPS
So, do you think this column will be helpful? Save you time? Any suggestions of what you want me to feature next week?
