There are 5 main things I look for in a skinny jean — and hitting all of them is really hard to do! In addition to the fit and the color, these five things can make or break a sale for me and a pair of skinny jeans.
THE LENGTH — I like my skinny jeans to hit right at the ankle. Hey, if I’m wearing nice shoes, I want you to be able to see them! I don’t want them covering or interfering with my shoes. And if they’re too long, they bunch up around the ankle, and I’m not trying to add any bunching.
THE STRETCH — Sitting, standing, kneeling — I move around a lot when I’m styling photo shoots, and I walk a lot, so I prefer jeans to have a little stretch so I can comfortable walk around.
THE WAIST — No more low-rise jeans for this 30-something. I like my bum to stay in my jeans, so mid-rise is where I’m at.
THE ANKLE — For skinny jeans, I like the ankle to be tight. None of this loosey-goosey business.
THE POCKETS — Pocket placement is huge! It’s so important to find the jeans that flatter you.
For me, these Hudson Nico Super Skinny Jeans hit all five of the things I look for in the perfect skinny jean.
