WEEK IN REVIEW // Beige + Tequila + Pattern

While wandering around DC with my dad, his wife, and my husband (they were in town for a weekend) we stumbled upon this shop that I’ve never heard of, And Beige. I saw the sign outside and said, “Dad, it’s your store!” There is a joke in my family about how much my dad loves beige, so my mom would get him something beige for Christmas every year. Obviously we had to check out this store and we were pleasantly surprised.

I think I’ll be doing some shopping in there.

So I do these things called walk-n-talks, where I catch up with friends on the phone (since I’ve moved away from many of them) while I’m on a long walk. It’s just a great way to get out of my place, and be moving while talking instead of sitting on my ass inside. While on these walk-n-talks sometimes I have to stop and snap photos of the gorgeous homes in DC… like this one.

I’ve heard so many amazing things about Mintwood Place, so I thought it would be the perfect place to take my foodie dad while he was in town. We all loved it. The decor was cool, the food was amazing, the service was perfect — the guy wasn’t overly attentive, but there when we needed him. We sat in one of the windows on a rainy Saturday morning. Perfect.

This week I had lunch with a local blogger that recently moved to the DC area from Boston. We went to Rosa Mexicano where I snapped this pic of the water wall in the back. It has all of these little diving sculptures on it. I loved the concept.

And since it was National Tequila Day, we decided a margarita would be the only appropriate beverage.

Clockwise: SweetPress is having me try out their new juices. As a juicing fanatic, I was totally game. They are definitely delicious and refreshing. My favorite so far is Seasonal. I’m not a huge fan of ginger which is in several of the juices, but I know it’s really good for my body so I don’t mind as much. // So the umbrella in the pic was given to me by a friend when I was in her wedding. Isn’t it cute! // Loved this I’m An Artist pad. I love how you can check the box for masterpiece. // I’m seriously debating whether or not to go back and get these pink snakeskin flats at Nordstrom Rack. I love them and they would be perfect for fall. A good touch of color for my more neutral outfits.
