In the winter I’m basically always freezing. This year since it’s my first winter commuting with lots of outside walking involved (I’ve only either worked from home, driven to a parking garage connected to the building I worked in at Hallmark, or lived in Florida) so all of this time walking around outside in DC in the winter means lots of warm layers.
I’m stocking up on neutral cozy sweaters this year. I love it when I can find one like the one I’m wearing here that is classic with a twist. This IRO Magic Sweater (gifted by The Dreslyn) has a cool design. Yep — it’s got cutouts. I’m wearing a black tank underneath. It’s wool so it’s really warm, even with the cutouts.
I wear black, gray or dark denim jeans almost every day with a cozy neutral sweater. It’s an easy winter uniform for what I do most days (stand at my desk and write, design, strategize, etc.).
I’m also wearing my new Rag & Bone Fedora that I’ve been in love with since last year, and light black distressed jeans. I talked about both in this post. Ahhh I love this hat! I’ve tried on others, and none were as perfect as this one. It keeps my head warm and I can even put a thin hat underneath for really cold days.
Whether or not I like the concept of wearing a “uniform” — I do it. I find styles and outfits I like each season and I wear them over and over each season. It also helps me justify expensive purchases because I buy less & wear often.
Do you find yourself wearing a uniform each season?
