Having lived most of my life in a place where I experience all four seasons (save the one year I lived in Florida), I have to have a range of types of clothing (same as many of you). Most of you know by now that I actually have a smaller wardrobe than a lot of other bloggers and just in general. I have a small closet and I prefer quality over quantity when it comes to my clothes.
Since I mostly work from home for the past year (although that’s about to change) I end up wearing the same things over and over. I always start the day in my workout clothes and after I workout and shower, if I’m working from home I change into something casual like jeans and a sweater or sweatshirt, something nicer if I have a meeting, or my painting clothes if I’m going to paint.
When I purchase clothing for a season I typically get it online (often during a sale) and I’ll get a few things at a local boutiques. I tend to buy more clothing online, and more accessories and gifts locally. I think having a balance of supporting both is good — it’s the combination of convenience and supporting my local community. A lot of the clothing I actually want to buy is mostly only available online so I don’t have much of a choice in that sense.
Anytime Shopbop has a sale I always shop it. It’s free shipping and free returns so it’s just easy for me to try on a bunch of stuff an send back what I don’t want. This Saturday (Small Business Saturday) I’ll also be shopping at my favorite local shops in Old Town (The Hive, She’s Unique, Bishop Boutique, etc.) and at the Etsy Pop-Up Market at Union Market.
This winter I’m running pretty low on sweaters. I tend to wear mine into the ground and I did that last year with a few that I should probably move on from. In the winter I tend to mostly wear sweaters and sweatshirts on a daily basis so I need to add a few to my wardrobe.
Here are my picks from the Shopbop sale if you are looking to get a few items during the sale!
